BrutRB discussion?

Greetings programs! I’ve been working on Brut for a while now as a convention-based Ruby web framework. Something with the original ethos of Rails but instead of DSLs everywhere, trying to match web standards, the standard library and some of the common gems the community has built over time.

Movement toward 1.0 has been slow, but I’m gonna start posting here more often with what I’m up to as a way to keep momentum, but also connect with anyone interested in Ruby web frameworks.

More to come, and free to check out the obligatory build-a-blog-in-15-minutes video

It’s good to see you here! I’ve been meaning to check out Brut now that I’ve had a good look at Hanami. I think you have some great ideas that align with how I like to do web development, especially the default choice of Phlex!

I am so far loving Phlex vs ERB for two reasons: 1) it’s all Ruby so now wierd mish-mash of HTML, Ruby, and magic brackets, and 2) private methods! You don’t have to reach for helpers or partials as your first line of defense against complexity or duplication.
