Hey there, I’m David! I’m a senior staff software engineer at Freshworks working on FireHydrant (where I write APIs ) out in Portland, OR (where I drink IPAs ). I’ve worked in the tech industry for about fifteen years and have been at a number of top-tier companies like Stripe, HashiCorp, GitHub, DigitalOcean, and New Relic.

I describe myself as an empathy-driven backend engineer because I try to bring empathy into every part of my process with the understanding that everybody around me, be they users or colleagues, come from a variety of backgrounds that differ from my own. We all have our own unique needs, but nobody needs to be left behind.
