I’m Javier, an entrepreneur/software engineer working as a consultant a to help builders and founders use the power of technology to grow their businesses.
I discovered ruby in 2013 and it opened a new world of possibilities that felt like magic. After programming professionally for many years and working on a dozen of programming languages, I can confidently say it’s the most enjoyable for me.
I’m currently working as Principal Software Engineer at Gray Wolf and I’ve been maintaining Ruby Newbie to help anyone learning the Ruby language.
Hi!
My name is Wagner Braga.
I’m a Ruby / Ruby on Rails dev mostly working on back-end stuff and APIs. I enjoy writing code and figuring out why things work.
I’ve got experience with SQL, Linux environments, Rails ecosystem. I also have a DevOps background as I was tech support previosly.
I’m open to colaborate in open-source projects if you have a cool project.
I’m Kevin. I’ve been using Rails and Ruby since 2004, and professionally since 2005. Currently, I’m a software engineer at Bonusly, and live in Savannah, GA. I’ve been a startup CTO, CEO, ran a devops company where I helped scale a bunch of Rails apps, and before Bonusly, worked at Gusto for four years. I still love Rails and Ruby and am really excited that this community exists!
Outside of work, I run a small tech-focused nonprofit, bake, cook, read and try to cause a little trouble here and there.
I’ve been a rails dev for my entire professional career, which is now 13+ years! I’ve got plenty backend experience and try to stay away from the front end when possible . Currently I’m trying to figure out what my next chapter looks like, either my next FT role or as a fractional worker.
I’m Radan, I’m also, in strictly increasing order of importance: Software developer, RubyZG organizer, Author of masterhotwire.com, Runner, Dog Owner, Husband, Father.
I’ve been programming for over 30 years, since I was 10, professionally for 17. I write semi regularly at my blog at https://radanskoric.com/.
Hi, I’m Felipe Vogel. I’ve been writing Ruby since 2020, when I career-transitioned from teaching English literature and Latin. Now I’m a software engineer at Kin Insurance.
Outside of work I spend most of my time being a parent to two tiny humans. I also like reading and (natural) languages, and lately I’ve been getting more into open source. I have a blog, and I live in Kentucky, where I’m the organizer of the cozy little Bluegrass Ruby User Group.
I’m a software engineer and I first started with Ruby in 2013. I developed an API for a mobile application, and since then, I’ve been building APIs with Ruby on Rails and other programming languages.
I was recently laid off, so I’m currently freelancing and working on my own projects. I created this job tracker and feedback is welcome! I’m not using a database yet, so everything is stored in localStorage. I’m planning the backend, but it works for now. I also developed a Chrome extension to save jobs. I used to write a lot on my blog(godieboy.com), but now my brother is the maintainer; he is a doctor, so the latest posts are about medical topics.
I’m Karl. I work on Ruby Camping sometimes, hopefully much more this year. And write a lot of Ruby at and around work. Or at least I used to! I’m just writing Typescript and WebAssembly right now. I’m also working on a couple of new programming languages, Kona, and Rook, to replace Javascript on the web because I just hate it soooo much.
Hi, I am Ian, started using Ruby On Rails back before 2.3.4
I am a creative entrepreneur, who has founded several startups. Most recently a train travel startup.
Also available to be employed, either by contract or permanent employment. I strongly value introductions by cc, to those who are recruiting. I can be many roles. From ruby developer, to CTO, and since I have a product mindset, a Technical Product Manager too.
I LOVE collaborating with other humans, and together with Animesh, pioneered a rb mob programming following the sun project called#helloworld_rb - I would like to bring it back, so do shout if you are a collaborative human, of any ruby ability.
Currently, playing a lot with the app builders, such as Lovable, and thinking we could do a ruby version But with more of a Lean Startup usp, so user aquisition, and user feedback. I called it Awesome Product.
I enjoy many aspects of ruby, but do not feel we should extensively use meta programming in production.
Hi I am PikachuEXE, using RoR since university and all my jobs uses RoR too.
I create small gems sometimes but mostly maintain gems that I use (one-time PR is more common but that’s nothing special). You can see some of them via the link above.
In recent years I am more like a FreeTube developer (coz I use it, like many other gems/projects). I still use RoR at my work but I feel like there isn’t much new stuff I encountered.
I hope I can encounter/use Ruby in some new areas.
Hi! I’m Jenna. I started learning Rails and Ruby since last year through The Odin Project. My professional background is in IT Project Management and UX Design.
I’m currently in between roles, so I’m taking some time to explore more projects and connect in forums like this.
Hi everyone, I’m Camille. I’ve been working with Ruby on Rails since 2008. I started my career building and maintaining Rails applications for several startups, where Ruby quickly became my go-to language for shipping reliable products fast.
In 2012, I co-founded Human Coders, a professional training center for developers in France. We started with Ruby and Ruby on Rails trainings — our core technologies — and today we offer more than 200 trainings, while all our internal and client-facing platforms are still built with Rails.
I’ve been working with Ruby/Rails now for about 15 years. I was on the Rails core team for 6 of those, but now I prefer evolving Rails in my own gems like oaken, active_record-associated_object, active_job-performs and action_controller-stashed_redirects.
These days I’m also learning Rust to work on https://rv.dev to help make new dev tooling for Ruby. rv already installs Ruby in seconds and we’re working on solidifying dependency installs now so they’re fast and robust. I think it’s really exciting.
The rest is up at https://kaspth.com with my blog, talks and guestbook. Excited to be here!
Hi! I’m Paweł. Technically I’m an Elixir developer, working on OSS tooling for Jump. But I am also a contributor to Hanami and Dry projects and doing Ruby in my free time. I first started coding in Ruby around 2007, got my first proper job in 2012.
